Indigenous Youth Mentorship Scholarship
Description: This scholarship is in honour of the late Mollie Bono—a woman who embodied where the magic of learning meets the art of mentorship.
1. Any Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Metis) student in SD22
2. Only Okanagan Indian Band member students in SD22
Selection Criteria:
1. Leadership in Everyday Spaces
o Demonstrated leadership at school, in community, culture, family, or peer spaces.
2. Mentorship & Care for Others
o Evidence of supporting, mentoring, or advocating for others, formally or informally.
3. Commitment to Community
o Connection to community, culture, and collective wellbeing.
Application Components:
• Written or creative reflection (story, artwork, video, or oral submission) with a focus on ‘who are you mentoring, and how do you carry responsibility for others as you move forward?’
• One reference from a teacher, mentor, Elder, or Indigenous community member
