Greater Vernon Alumni Basketball (GVAB)
Trevor Samuel (1977-1991) was born in Saskatoon, SK on May 4, 1977. He attended Mission Hill Elementary School and then Fulton Secondary School. Trevor always strived to maintain a high personal standard of excellence. Whatever he pursued, he did with commitment, hard work, and dedication. Trevor was a well-rounded individual and excelled academically, athletically, and musically, though he always remained considerate and humble and more than eager to help others whenever there was a need. Trevor was an inspiration to his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Impact
The annual Greater Vernon Alumni Basketball tournament brings together the North Okanagan and Shuswap communities in a fun, two-day alumni tournament that raises money for high school scholarships and to support kids with financial barriers to playing high school sports. To date, GVAB has raised over $50,000 that goes toward local students to advance their athletic and educational aspirations.
