Dave Brotsky

In high school, Lorraine excelled in the clothing/textile/sewing/design/pattern making areas and upon graduating pursued further formal study at the college level. This prepared her to enter into commercial factory work in Montreal as pattern maker and sample sewer. Subsequently she was invited to be the founding designer, pattern maker, sample sewer for Vernon’s Far West Mountain Wear company when it began in the early 1980’s. She then migrated into starting her own home based business “Lorraine’s Couture & Fibre art Studio” which flourished until her death in 2022. Lorraine was also very involved in Live Theatre both at her High School as well as at The Powerhouse Theatre (Vernon) and Western Canada Theatre Company (Kamloops). She also taught many workshops and courses in both the Theatre (costumes) and Fashion Worlds.
